NOTICE OF RACE

1. Rules
1.1 The regatta will be governed by
. the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing,
. the International Dragon Class Rules,
. the Notice of Race,
. the Sailing Instruction and all the subsequent changes made by the Organizing Authority, the Race Committee and the Jury, also changing the Notice of Race or the Sailing Instructions, if posted not less than two hours before the starting scheduled time of the race.
In the event of conflict the Sailing Instructions shall prevail.
1.2 No national prescriptions will apply.
1.3 If there is a conflict between languages the English text will take precedence.

2. Advertising
2.1 The regatta is designated Category "A" under ISAF Advertising Code Regulation 20.
2.2 Boats may be required to display advertising chosen and supplied by the organizing authority.

3. Eligibility
3.1 The regatta is open to all boats of the International Dragon Class which hold valid Measurement Certificates.
3.2 Owners shall be current members of their National Dragon Association.
3.3 Italian helmsmen and crew members shall have a valid 2010 FIV card.

4. Entry
4.1 Eligible boats may enter by completing the attached form and sending it by September 26, 2010, together with the required fee, to Circolo Nautico “Al Mare”, 6 Porticciolo Luca Ferrari, 17021 Alassio, Italy, fax ++39.0182.640840 ; e.mail info@cnamalassio.it , enclosing:- copy of valid third party liability insurance certificate of the boat with a minimum cover of 1.000.000,00 €.
- receipt for payment of the entry fee

5. Entry fee
5.1 The required fee is of 200 €uro
5.2 The payment of the entry fee may be made by direct bank transfer to CN Al Mare, Alassio Deutsche Bank IBAN IT15F031 0449 2400 0000 0820 415

5.3 The fee is inclusive of craning and mooring at the Porticciolo Luca Ferrari during the regatta.
5.4 The Organizing Authority reserves the right to accept entries after the 26th September 2010, applying an extra fee of 50 €

6. Schedule
6.1 Registration:
Thursday, September 30 from 14:00 to 17:00 H
Friday, October 1 from 09:00 to 11:00 H
6.2 Dates of racing:
Friday, October 1 racing: first warning signal 12:00 H
Saturday, October 2 racing
Sunday, October 3 racing
The scheduled time of the first warning signal of the following day will be posted at the official
notice board before 19:00 H.
6.3 Up to 3 races per day can be sailed.
6.4 The scheduled time of the warning signal for the last race of the last day is 15:00 H
6.5 The organizing authority may modify the schedule in case of adverse weather or for other reasons.

7. Measurements
7.1 Each boat shall produce a valid measurement certificate.
7.1 Checks may be made on boats and/or equipments before, during and after the races as determined by the Race Committee or the Jury.
7.2 Boats and sails shall be already measured and comply with the Class Rules.

8. Sailing Instructions
The Sailing Instructions will be available after 14:00 H on September 30, 2010 at the Circolo Nautico “Al Mare”.

9.Venue
9.1 The courses will be sailed in the gulf of Alassio from 1st to 3rd October, 2010.
9.2 Road access from Autostrada (Highway) A10-E80:

. Coming from West (Nice, Ventimiglia), exit ANDORA, just close to the exit to the first roundabout keep left and follow the ALASSIO indications to the south direction, when you will arrive close to the sea go to the (road) SP 1 Aurelia and turn left to the east direction,flowing always the ALASSIO indications, across the Cape and Across the small Village LAIGUEGLIA, straight ahead after 2 Kilometres you will arrive to ALASSIO straight ahead on the main road for about 2 kilometres just close to the end of ALASSIO Town you will see on the right side the Grand Hotel Diana and immediately after the Hotel Regina (always on the right side) turn right on the first small road sea direction, when you arrive in front of the sea at the end of the small descent (50 metres) turn left to the “Porto Luca Ferrari” direction (east) after 400 metres you will enter in the harbour where you will find persons and or indications to your trailer parking area. In any case if is possible we will place a ALASSIO DRAGON WEEK white panel on the road.

. Coming from East (Savona, Genoa) Highway A10 E80 exit ALBENGA , just close to the exit keep right side and following the ALASSIO indications (panoramic road SP1 Aurelia) (Warning do not follow the Aurelia Bis indication) after 200 metres you will find a light, go straight ahead, you will arrive at the first roundabout keep right straight ahead close to the river, you will continue straight ahead for about 2 Kilometres, you will across a small roundabout straight ahead just when you arrive to a big roundabout with flowers and write (Albenga) you turn left in East direction, after about 250 metres turn right following ALASSIO indications, you will see on the right side the Ford Car Dealer, following in West direction, after the Tunnel drive for others 6 Kilometres in the Panoramic Road you will see the sea on the left and the Hill on the right, after panoramic bend on the right you will arrive in a downhill and you will see the ALASSIO gulf, Town and beach following the road in downhill for about 500 metres and just at the end of the downhill you will see on the right side a level crossing a just in front you will find a small road turn left on sea direction and at the end of this small descent (50 metres) you turn left on the sea road to the “Porto Luca Ferrari” east direction after 400 metres you will arrive in the harbour and you will find persons and or indications to your travel parking area.

10. Scoring
10.1 A maximum of 9 courses will be sailed.
10.2 The Low Point System of Appendix A will apply.

11. Prizes
Prizes will be given to the first 3 boats

12. Haul-out restrictions
Keelboats shall not be hauled out during the regatta except with and according to the terms of prior written permission of the race committee.

13. Diving equipment and plastic pools
Underwater breathing apparatus and plastic pools or their equivalent shall not be used around keelboats between the preparatory signal of the first race and the end
of the regatta.

14. Radio communications
Except in an emergency, a boat shall neither make radio transmissions while racing nor receive radio communications not available to all boats. This restriction also applies to mobile telephones.

12. Disclaimer of liability
Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to race. The organizing authority, the Race Committee and the Jury will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.

13.Insurance
Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of 1.000.000,00 €uro per event or the equivalent.
The organizing authority will ask for the insurance certificate at the regatta registration.
The presence of safety boats do not raise the boat from his own responsibility.
Competitors are suggested to have his own personal insurance against accidents.

14. Image rights
Attending this event the boat owners, their crew members and guests give the organizing authority and its sponsors the rights and authorization to publish and/or distribute in any way photographs and videos of people and boats made during the event, even for press release and/or advertising.

15. Events
Thursday 30 September at 6.30 PM: Welcome Cocktail.
Friday 1st October at the end of the races: PASTA PARTY.
Saturday 2nd October at 8.30 PM: DINNER PARTY
Sunday 3rd October ASAP: Prize Giving Ceremony
